Australian crews collected a gold, silver and two bronze medals at the second rowing World Cup regatta of the season in Amsterdam.

Underlining their world champion status in the women's four, Australia won both the gold and silver medals.

The top crew of Victorians Robyn Selby Smith, Sarah Outhwaite and Sarah Heard and West Australian Natalie Bale finished first in 6m 31.06s.

Another three seconds back was the second Australian crew of Victorians Phoebe Stanley and Emily Martin, the ACT's Sonia Mills and Vicky Roberts of NSW.

The winning crew later backed up in the women's eight final in which Australia finished fourth, almost five seconds behind the victorious Netherlands combination.

Australian crews finished third and fourth in the women's pairs.

Victorian Kim Crow and ACT's Sarah Cook followed up their win in the first World Cup regatta in Austria with a bronze medal effort, with Queenslander Sally Kehoe and Tasmanian Kate Hornsey one place further back.

The other bronze went to the men's quad sculls combination of Victorian David Crawshay and Tasmanian Scott Brennan, who improved three places on their performance in Austria.

The men's eight, which included triple Olympic gold medallist James Tomkins in his first international competition in three years, made a disappointing start to their European campaign, finishing fourth in the B final.
