Leicester Tigers powered into the Heineken Cup final with a thrilling 33-17 win over the Llanelli Scarlets on Saturday.

It sets up the tournament's first all-English final, with the Tigers facing either Northampton or Wasps at Twickenham on May 20. The other semi-final is on Sunday.

Flyhalf Andy Goode scored 23 of Leicester's points, including a try. Shane Jennings and Louis Deacon scored the team's other two tries.

Scarlets started off looking the more dangerous in open play although Leicester built up a 16-10 halftime lead.

Llanelli grabbed a lead of 17-16 early in the second half with hooker Matthew Rees's try and a Stephen Jones conversion.

But Leicester then showed why they are in the running for three trophies this season.

Two minutes later Goode chipped over for Shane Jennings to race home between the posts and Goode made the easy conversion.

Another Goode penalty gave the Tigers a more comfortable cushion and Deacon's try, which Goode converted, put the match out of the Scarlets' reach five minutes from time.

Leicester, Heineken Cup champions in 2001 and 2002, won the EDF Energy Cup last weekend and lie equal on points with Gloucester at the top of the English Premiership.
