England's Croft facing fitness fight
England flanker Tom Croft faces a race against time to be fit for the Six Nations opener away to Wales in February after breaking his right shoulder against South Africa.
Croft had to leave the field long before the final whistle in a bruising match that saw world champions South Africa stall England's recent revival with a 21-11 victory at Twickenham on Saturday.
Leicester back-row Croft, detained in hospital overnight on Saturday, is due to see a specialist this coming week to determine what, if any, further medical action needs to be taken.
The 25-year-old will hope for a clear recovery plan in a bid to get back ahead of England's Six Nations opener against Wales at the Millennium Stadium on February 4.
Meanwhile he is set to miss Leicester's Premiership clash with London Irish next weekend and the Tigers back-to-back European Cup ties against French club Perpignan.
Leicester outside-half Toby Flood and Northampton wing Chris Ashton had, an England statement said, recovered from blows to the head and will be re-assessed by their club medical teams.
Sale five-eighth Charlie Hodgson (bruised foot) will also be checked over on his return to club duty.
