GWS signs Crows' Davis
Greater Western Sydney's latest recruit Phil Davis says his move to the new AFL club is a step to improving his football and leadership skills.
Davis, who revealed mid-season he would leave Adelaide to join GWS, said he was looking forward to guiding the young list at the AFL's 18th club.
The 21-year-old, who is reportedly being touted as a possible co-captain at the club, was officially confirmed as the Giants' third AFL-listed player at his old school, Marist College, in Canberra.
"I believe it is the best for me and my football," he told reporters in Canberra on Thursday.
GWS chief executive Dale Holmes said the key defender was another important step for the fledgling club as it prepares for its inaugural AFL season in 2012.
The signing of Davis followed the announcements of Callan Ward and Rhys Palmer as the club's first official AFL-listed recruits on Wednesday.
"We are busy into our list build, Stephen Silvagni has been instrumental in that," Holmes said.
