Tigers finally snare Blair
Wests Tigers have finally confirmed the signature of New Zealand Test forward Adam Blair on a four-year deal starting next NRL season.
The signing of the Melbourne backrower/prop has been one of the more anticipated recruits of recent times, with the Tigers having cleared the decks in a bid to secure his signature.
Blair's contract is believed to be worth $500,000 a year, as the Tigers also announced the recruitment of Parramatta centre Joel Reddy and Penrith forward Matthew Bell on Wednesday.
The Tigers have already released props Bryce Gibbs and Andrew Fifita to join Cronulla in 2012, while utility back Tim Moltzen is headed to St George Illawarra next year.
There is also speculation Chris Heighington and Beau Ryan have been given permission to negotiate with other clubs for next season.
One of the world's most dynamic forwards is poised to form a potent backrower combination alongside Englishman Gareth Ellis next season.
"Adam is a world class forward who has been a key member of the very successful Storm side in recent years," Wests Tigers' chief executive Stephen Humphreys said.
"His experience, leadership and professionalism will be great assets to our club."
Reddy - who suffered a season-ending pectoral injury in April - has committed to a two-year deal while Bell has signed on for 2012.
Reddy's acquisition will add to the Tigers' depth in the outside backs, sorely tested this year due to a rash of injuries.
