Ratten defends Robinson's comments
Carlton coach Brett Ratten says Blues player Mitch Robinson meant no disrespect to Melbourne with his comments about the Demons playing bruise-free football.
Ratten says Robinson's post-match comments after Carlton's 47-point win on Friday night were aimed at Carlton's lack of hardness in the first half.
Ratten says Robinson was simply stating the Blues had been disappointed with their lack of intensity for contested football in the first half of the round 10 AFL clash at the MCG.
"I haven't heard exactly what Mitch (said) but from my point of view there was no disrespect to Melbourne in anything," Ratten said on Tuesday.
"It was more about the reality of us not doing what we set out to do.
"It was nothing to do with Melbourne at all.
"I think that has been taken way out of context.
"The players were talking about us, not Melbourne.
"Our attack on the footy and the man was not up to the standard and we addressed that at half-time."
