Cowboys sign ex-Sea Eagle Hall
Former premiership-winning Manly forward Glenn Hall has signed a two-year deal with the North Queensland Cowboys.
In another coup for the Cowboys, who have also snapped up the likes of ex-Maroons hardman Dallas Johnson for 2011, Hall will return to Australia after a stint at English Super League outfit Bradford.
He gained a release and returned to Australia with his pregnant wife Kylie after initially signing a three-year deal with the Bulls.
The 29-year-old made his first grade debut in 2002 and played with the Bulldogs, South Sydney and the Roosters before finding his niche with Manly from 2007.
He was part of the Sea Eagles outfit that snared the 2008 grand final against Melbourne.
Hall played 28 games for Bradford before looking for a change of scenery.
"Signing with the Cowboys is an ideal opportunity for me to better my football and re-join the NRL with a club heading in the right direction that boasts such a big support group," Hall said.
"It'll be great to get settled in at the club and take on a bit of a leadership role, especially with a lot of young blokes making their mark this year as well."
Cowboys football manager Peter Parr said Hall would provide much needed experience to their young, emerging pack.
"With a raft of young, promising players like James Tamou, Blake Leary, Leeson Ah Mau and Tariq Sims on the books, we know Glenn will be able to provide the guidance they need to blossom in 2011," he said.
