Williams joins Sheedy at Giants
AFL newcomers Greater Western Sydney have landed another big name, with premiership-winning coach Mark Williams joining Kevin Sheedy as a senior assistant coach.
The former Port Adelaide mentor, who coached under Sheedy at Essendon from 1995-1997, agreed to terms with the Giants for three seasons.
Williams' appointment was confirmed by the club at a media conference on Friday afternoon.
Williams led the Power to the 2004 premiership and took them to another grand final in 2007, but after 11 years in charge his relationship with the club soured in 2010 causing the 52-year-old to step down from his post.
