Eddy, Hahn and Anthony all delisted
Collingwood freed the way for John Anthony to become the hottest property in December's AFL pre-season draft by delisting the wantaway forward.
Anthony, 22, is now set to be on the shopping list of several clubs headed by Gold Coast and Fremantle after declaring last week he wanted to quit the Magpies in search of further opportunities.
Those are now set to come in the pre-season draft on December 7 after Collingwood decided on Wednesday not to include the forward in their final list lodgement ahead of the national and pre-season drafts.
Magpies football manager Geoff Walsh said earlier on Wednesday his club had been considering whether to keep Anthony on their list.
But they eventually acceded to his wish for a new home in the pre-season draft, and now stand to lose Anthony for nothing.
With former Collingwood assistant Guy McKenna now Gold Coast's coach and the club thin on key forwards, Anthony appears an ideal fit if the Suns decided to use the No.1 pre-season pick on him.
Fremantle has also been mentioned as a possible new home.
But Walsh said the Magpies had shopped Anthony around in trade week and found no interest - and suggested the player's stocks had fallen considerably after a disappointing year in which he failed to deliver on a 50-goal season in 2009.
"The lack of interest in Jack in trade week was probably a product of his form during the year," Walsh said on Wednesday.
"By his own admission he didn't have a great year.
"He was selected seven times in the seniors and dropped five.
"It's not a great recommendation for clubs to be building their hopes around.
"If a club has shown some interest in him since, well from his point of view I hope it works out."
In other list lodgement news, St Kilda delisted grand final player Robert Eddy and the Western Bulldogs cut 10-year veteran forward Mitch Hahn.
Eddy played in the both the drawn grand final and the replay, but it wasn't enough to keep him from being shown the door along with utility Luke Miles.
And the Bulldogs dumped Hahn, who had struggled in the latter part of the season to maintain his senior place.
Dogs coach Rodney Eade said the decision to axe Hahn was not taken lightly.
"Mitch has been at the club since 2000 and has provided us with tremendous service over this time," Eade said.
"His courage on the field was something to admire and his commitment to the club made him a highly regarded figure here."
Meanwhile, Collingwood are still no closer to finding out whether new recruit Andrew Krakouer can take part in the club's annual pre-season camp in Arizona.
Krakouer, who spent more than a year in jail for assault prior to having his AFL career resurrected by the Pies, is awaiting a decision by United States immigration officials on whether they will let him into the country despite his criminal record.
Collingwood's players leave on Sunday for the camp at altitude.
"That's subject to immigration issues at the moment," Walsh said.
"We all know of Andrew's previous history ... but we have made several applications through immigration officials to have his case reviewed with a view to receiving permission for him to travel to the US."
