Springboks make one change
The Wallabies will face a Springboks starting XV with just one change in this weekend's Tri-Nations Test in Bloemfontein.
The South Africans have given Danie Rossouw the nod ahead of Flip van der Merwe at lock.
Van der Merwe moves to the bench, where he will be joined by exciting back Gio Aplon who returns to replace the injured Butch James (shoulder).
"We feel that Danie will be better suited the to the type of game we would like to play as well as to what we expect the Wallabies may bring to the game," Springboks coach Peter De Villiers said.
The move could be a response to Australia's wobbly lineout in last Saturday's 44-31 loss at Loftus Versfeld, as Boks vice-captain Victor Matfield hinted.
"The lineouts were better but I was really impressed by how well we did at the breakdown," he said.
"I was also very happy with the scrums which were a good launching platform for us. We will continue to see where we can improve this week."
The colourful De Villiers has been stung by criticism of his side, which has managed just one win from five Tri-Nations games this year, declaring this week "if you're not for us, you're against us".
"The 'us' says everything, it's about us," he said.
"We are close and are open to each other, and when we fight (amongst each other) it's to get the best out of each other.
"If we disagree about certain things, we agree to disagree. When we leave the team room, we leave it in a unified way."
Meanwhile, Wallabies assistant Jim Williams has defended Australia's decision not to use their full bench as they searched for victory in Pretoria.
"There's never really any pre-conceived plan going into the game," he said.
"You look at the game, see how it's going and then you make the changes from there and we felt that the changes that we did make, they're the ones we wanted to make at the time."
The Wallabies team will be announced on Wednesday.
