Panthers' Tighe extends contract
In-form Penrith winger Brad Tighe has agreed to a further two years at the Panthers, resisting offers from other NRL clubs.
Having just played his 100th first grade match, Tighe was being chased heavily by Cronulla, who were looking to add some potency to their backline.
However, the 26-year-old, who is also adept at playing centre, decided to stick with the Panthers' exciting young side.
Penrith chief executive Michael Leary was delighted with the news, declaring Tighe to be an important part of the club's future.
"Brad has shown himself to be a quality player since joining the club," Leary said.
"He is an integral part of our team and I'm pleased we have been able to secure him for another two years."
Born in Moree, Tighe came to the Panthers in 2008 after debuting for the Knights in 2005 where he played for three seasons.
