The Essendon coaching panel will undergo a significant overhaul for next season, with assistant coaches Scott Camporeale and Ashley Prescott standing down for personal reasons.

Former Carlton premiership player Camporeale will return to South Australia after three years at Windy Hill, while Prescott will relocate to his home state of Western Australia after three years on Matthew Knights' staff.

The pair advised the club of their decisions on Monday ahead of a wide-ranging club review at the end of what has been a disappointing season for the Bombers.

"Scott and Ash have been integral to the development of our young group and we are grateful for the role they have played over the past three years," said Knights.

"We understand that both of the guys are raising young families and it is important that they do what is best for them.

"Both Scott and Ash have formed many strong friendships over their time here and they will most certainly be missed around the place and we wish them the best of luck for their careers post-Essendon."
