2014 WC to 'inject $A92b into Brazil'
A study says the 2014 World Cup in Brazil will inject nearly $US80 billion ($A92.38 billion) into the country's economy.
The joint study by the Getulio Vargas Foundation think tank and accounting giant Ernst & Young says World Cup-linked investments in Brazil between 2010 and 2014 will total 142 billion reals ($A91.22 billion).
The study says that 113 billion reals ($A71.59 billion) will be invested in the production of goods and services, while 30 billion reals ($A19.63 billion) will be invested in infrastructure.
The study also says that 3.6 million new jobs will be created and 64 billion reals ($A40.42 billion) of income will be generated during the period.
The study was posted Thursday on Ernst & Young's website.
