Herbert signals end of NZ coaching reign
All Whites coach Ricki Herbert has indicated he will not be returning to the soccer World Cup as New Zealand coach.
Following this morning's 0-0 draw with Paraguay, which ended New Zealand's campaign in South Africa, Herbert was positive about the country's future in the sport but signalled he might not be leading the way for much longer, cbssports.com reported.
"The future looks extremely bright for this team," he said.
"It will be the next coach's job to look and find and see what they think."
Herbert said many of the players in this year's team would potentially be around for the 2014 tournament in Brazil.
"I think when you look at the team 85 per cent of it can go on to the 2014 program and there are not a lot of sides that are in that position," he said.
