Kiwis have support near South Pole
So impressive has been New Zealand's performance at the World Cup that its fan base has spread to Antarctica.
Kiwis at Scott Base, New Zealand's Antarctic research facility 1,500km from the South Pole, ventured out it temperatures of minus 35 Celsius on Wednesday to unfurl a banner saying "Go All Whites".
The base, which has 85 staff in summer, has only a skeleton staff of around 14 in the perpetually dark Antarctic winter when temperatures plunge below minus 40 degrees.
Staff are able to watch World Cup matches on the internet.
