Lyon out of Origin contention
Manly and NSW centre Jamie Lyon is out of contention for next month's third State of Origin clash in Sydney after he re-injured his right ankle in Saturday night's NRL encounter with South Sydney at Brookvale Oval.
Lyon, who had just returned to action after a three-week lay-off that ruled him out of last Wednesday's 34-6 defeat to Queensland, sustained the injury midway through the first half when giant Souths prop David Taylor trod on his ankle.
Early indications from Manly's medical team estimate the former Parramatta star will be sidelined for up to a month.
