Dupuy gouging ban upheld
Stade Francais halfback Julien Dupuy has had his 23-week ban for gouging upheld by the French Rugby Federation (FFR) and French National Rugby League (LNR) on Monday.
Dupuy, 26, was cited for gouging the eyes of Ulster flanker Stephen Ferris during the Irish province's 23-13 European Cup win over the Paris-based club in Belfast last December.
In January his initial appeal against the suspension failed, although the original ban of 24 weeks was cut to 23 weeks.
The ban covers all European and domestic competitions.
Stade Francais president Max Guazzini is planning to take the case to the French National Olympic Committee (CNOSF).
