Highlanders lose Cowan to injury
All Blacks' halfback Jimmy Cowan has suffered a dislocated finger and will return to New Zealand early from the Highlanders' Super 14 rugby tour of South Africa.
Cowan suffered the injury during the Highlanders' 33-0 loss to the Stormers at Cape Town on Saturday.
His place in the Highlanders' squad will be taken by his brother Scott who is due to arrive in South Africa in time for Saturday's next match against the Bulls in Pretoria.
Former All Blacks' prop Jamie McIntosh will captain the Highlanders against the Bulls in Cowan's absence.
