Ashley Harrison re-signs with Titans
Queensland Origin backrower Ashley Harrison has re-signed with the Gold Coast Titans for another two seasons.
Harrison, 28, was off contract at the end of 2010 but decided to extend the deal after regaining some of his best form on the tourist strip.
"I see the club as heading in a really positive direction and I think I've played some of my best footy here at the Titans," said Harrison who also played at Broncos (2000-02), South Sydney (2003-05) and Sydney Roosters (2006-07).
"Being closer to my family has made me feel more settled and I'm more than happy to stay.
"You don't really realise the importance of family until you move away and come back.
"I think my future is in Queensland."
Harrison is in camp with a Queensland side preparing to complete their first Origin series whitewash since 1995.
The Maroons have won an unprecedented four straight series.
Harrison's re-signing is another boost to the Titans after fellow forwards Aaron Cannings and Matt White recently committed for another season.
Former NSW forwards Luke Bailey and Anthony Laffranchi have also been locked in on long term deals.
"Ashley has formed part of the nucleus of our side over the past two years and I'm pleased that he will continue to do so well into the future," said Titans boss Michael Searle.
"He is an experienced player who leads by example and his decision to stay with the club means our forward pack can continue to build on what they've been doing over the past few seasons."
