Halatau sidelined for Wests Tigers
Wests Tigers' injury woes have continued with key utility Dene Halatau set to be sidelined for up to two months after sustaining a knee injury in Saturday's win over South Sydney.
The New Zealand international joins Chris Heighington (leg), Keith Galloway (knee), Dean Collis (forearm), Blake Lazarus (knee) and Peni Tagive (shoulder) on the NRL club's lengthy injury list.
The club have also announced 21-year-old Lazarus has signed a new two-year contract.
Lazarus, who has suffered two knee reconstructions in the past two seasons since joining the club in 2008, said he was delighted the club have extended his deal.
"I am just so grateful for the faith the Wests Tigers have shown in me and in particular, coach Tim Sheens and recruitment manager Warren McDonnell. I want to repay them with a big season next year," Lazarus said.
