Creagh re-signs with Dragons until 2013
St George Illawarra received a significant boost on Thursday with Ben Creagh re-signing with the NRL club for a further four years.
The prospective NSW Origin backrower has starred for the Dragons the past few seasons, becoming one of their most dangerous attacking weapons since his debut in round 22, 2003.
He is the first player to re-sign with the club since Wayne Bennett arrived in the summer, and will remain a Dragon until the end of the 2013 NRL season.
"It is a great club with great tradition and I very much look forward to staying and being a part of the future," said Creagh.
"I'm happy to know that my next four years are secured, staying here was always what I wanted to do and hopefully I can play my entire career here."
Bennett has been keeping a close eye on Creagh since arriving in December and believes he can add to his representative resume which includes one Test for Australia and two games for NSW Country.
"Ben is a really important part of our long-term future," said Bennett.
"He brings a lot of wonderful qualities both on and off the field to the team.
"There is a lot more to Ben Creagh than what we have seen from him to date."
