Alexander signs new deal with Brumbies
Wallaby prop Ben Alexander re-signed with the Brumbies and the Australian Rugby Union for two years on Thursday.
Alexander, who will make his Super 14 run-on debut against the Lions in Johannesburg this weekend, has scored two tries in his 10 appearances off the bench for the Brumbies since making his debut against the Reds in the third round last season.
The 24-year-old also made his international debut in 2008, making four appearances, after being named in the Wallabies domestic and end-of-season European spring tour squads.
Alexander said he was happy to stay in Canberra.
"It was an easy decision really," he said.
"It was something I wanted to get locked away early so I could focus on the season and given that I've thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Brumbies so far, there was no reason to look anywhere else.
"Canberra's a very easy place to live and somewhere that's conducive to playing good rugby. It's a city that allows you to focus on your football and, combined with the Brumbies family environment, it's the ideal place to play rugby.
"I'm enjoying the style of football we get to play at the Brumbies, they're a great bunch of guys and I think we're entering a very exciting time for the club."
