The Western Bulldogs have left Dale Morris out of their squad for Saturday's AFL practice match against Sydney.

Rookie James Mulligan will take his place for the evening match at Rouse Hill in western Sydney.

Canadian Mike Pyke is also out of the Swans lineup and another rookie, Jake Orreal, has taken his place.

Many teams have left out key players for this weekend's round of pre-season games, either for a rest or because they are injured.

Hawthorn will have only one member of their AFL premiership team, ruckman Brent Renouf, in the lineup for Saturday's practice match against Adelaide in Berri.
