Hayne escapes penalty for high tackle
Parramatta star Jarryd Hayne has escaped any punishment for his high tackle on Penrith's Shane Elford in a trial match last Saturday.
The NRL match review committee on Monday announced they had laid no charges from the seven trial matches across the weekend.
Hayne was placed on report in the 11th minute of the Eels' win over Penrith at CUA Stadium for a high tackle on winger Elford.
The NSW Origin winger wasn't the only player let off by the panel.
Roosters five-eighth Ben Jones also escaped scrutiny for his high shot on Wests Tigers winger Taniela Tuiaki that prevented a certain try that would have levelled scores in the Foundation Cup.
