Crows cut down by injuries at wrong time
Adelaide have added defender Ben Rutten to an injury list taking on worrying dimensions before the AFL season proper.
Rutten underwent arthroscopic surgery on Tuesday night to clean out his right knee and will miss the majority of the pre-season cup while he recovers.
He joins midfielder Nathan van Berlo, who was this week consigned to crutches due to an acute tear in the plantar fascia in the sole of his right foot, meaning he also is fighting to be fit in time for round one of the home and away season.
Also among the wounded list are Brad Symes (hand), Richard Douglas (hip) and Greg Gallman (collarbone), in addition to the long term rehab efforts of Jason Porplyzia (shoulder) and Brett Burton (knee).
