Freo sign Hill, Suban until end of 2011
Fremantle have signed 2008 draftees Stephen Hill and Nic Suban to extended contracts, securing the pair's services until the end of 2011.
The duo, who had already signed the standard two-year contract provided under the AFL's Collective Bargaining Agreement, opted to sign for an additional season.
Fremantle overlooked the talented Daniel Rich to draft Hill with pick No. 3 in the national draft, while the Dockers used pick No. 24 to snare North Ballarat left footer Suban.
"During the National Draft planning process we identified Stephen and Nic as two players who would add significant value to Fremantle as the club strives for sustained on-field success," Fremantle's general manager of player management Brad Lloyd said.
"To have them commit to the club until 2011 is a good result.
"Stephen and Nic are both talented young players who have impressed since their arrival at the club.
"They are both determined to succeed at the highest level."
Hill, 18, played for WAFL side West Perth in both colts and league this season.
He represented WA in the U18 National Championships and was rewarded with All-Australian honours for his performances.
Suban, 18, was captain of Vic Country in 2008, playing in defence and through the midfield.
