Screw removed from Ballantyne's wrist
Fremantle AFL draftee Hayden Ballantyne has undergone surgery to remove a screw from his wrist.
General manager of football operations Chris Bond said the club was aware of the pre-existing condition before selecting the 21-year-old with pick No.21 at last month's national draft.
The club's medical staff advised Ballantyne, who had the screw inserted during an operation three years ago, to have it removed.
"We are satisfied that the procedure was the best course of action to take at this time in the pre-season, and we look forward to Hayden resuming pre-season training once his rehabilitation is complete," Bond said.
