Butch admits Springboks days may be over
South African World Cup winner Butch James signed a new three-year deal with English Premiership side Bath, but admitted that his international days may be numbered.
The 29-year-old fly-half, who will be integral to the club's European Cup hopes this season, has committed himself to the west country outfit until the end of the 2011/12 season.
"I have made some really good friends in Bath and am really happy playing rugby here and hope to keep playing well," said James who has made 22 appearances, scoring 113 points for the club.
However, he admitted that his 35-cap Springboks career may be drawing to a close.
"It's always great to be able to play for your country," said James who made his international debut against France in 2001.
"But I think my days as an international player might be numbered, although I would still really like to make the Lions Tour (next year). If I make the selection for that, we will see from there."
