Lomu to play in military fundraiser
All Blacks legend Jonah Lomu has agreed to play in a charity match at Twickenham aimed at raising funds to help the care and rehabilitation of British military personnel injured in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Lomu will turn out for the International Select XV in the match against a Help for Heroes XV on September 20.
The 33-year-old winger won 63 caps before illness cut short his career but he has recently been training with the New Zealand Warriors.
"As soon as I heard about the Help For Heroes cause, and the game, I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of," said Lomu.
Former Wales centre Scott Gibbs will skipper the International Select XV with Lawrence Dallaglio leading the Help For Heroes XV.
Another Welsh legend, Ieuan Evans, is managing the side with former Ireland boss Eddie O'Sullivan and ex-Llanelli and Leeds boss Phil Davies taking tracksuit roles.
England's World Cup-winning captain Martin Johnson announced his participation in the event last week and will play alongside Dallaglio.
