Carney decision to be made on Monday
Canberra's NRL club board hopes to make a decision on Todd Carney's future on Monday, club chief executive Don Furner says.
Carney's manager David Riolo on Friday delivered a response to the Raiders board's "take it or leave it" five-point disciplinary plan.
The Raiders told the halfback he would have to accept an alcohol ban, suspension from the rest of the 2008 season, counselling and do volunteer work if he wanted to stay with the club following a late-night drinking binge with fellow teammate Bronx Goodwin almost a fortnight ago.
Furner said the Raiders would take the time to consider the response made on Carney's behalf before making a final decision on his future.
"Todd's manager David Riolo has sent through a response in regards to the club's proposal and, out of good faith, the board has agreed to look at this response before a final decision is made on Todd's future, Furner said.
"After the match against the Broncos the board will discuss the response, and will aim to make a decision on Monday."
Carney has not been at the club headquarters since the incident in the late hours of Sunday, July 20.
He lives less than a kilometre away because he lost his licence to a drink-driving charge in an early run-in with police.
A complaint that Carney urinated on a pub patron on July 20 was withdrawn but the club still decided to suspend him indefinitely.
