North's Edwards possibly out for season
Spearhead Aaron Edwards could be the third North Melbourne player to suffer a season-ending injury.
Edwards broke a bone in his left leg when he landed awkwardly after taking a mark in the second term of Sunday's draw with Sydney.
An early diagnosis of the injury suggested he would face a 6-8 week layoff but coach Dean Laidley said that a worst-case scenario could see Edwards sidelined for the rest of the year after surgery on Wednesday.
"He'll have a plate and some screws put into his leg and he's also done some ligament damage, so he'll also have that repaired," Laidley said.
"We're probably thinking (he'll be out for) anywhere between eight weeks and the season."
The Roos have already lost Nathan Grima and Leigh Adams to season-ending knee injuries.
