Green bemoans lack of Demons confidence
Melbourne onballer Brad Green has blamed a massive lack of confidence for the side's ongoing horror start to the AFL season.
The Demons lost to Brisbane by 52 points on Sunday at the Gabba and are winless after six rounds ahead of next Sunday's match against Fremantle at the MCG.
Green on Monday conceded the team's situation had rarely been worse in his time at the club, but insisted no-one was dropping his bundle.
"Yeah, it hasn't been great, but no doubt, no boys are sitting around (feeling) doom and gloom," he said.
"There's no doubt there's a confidence issue, but the boys are still upbeat, the boys are still pumping around as boys do when they get to the club.
"You saw it even last week against Carlton, once we got a bit of a run-on, a bit of a surge, anything can happen.
"There's Freo this week, they're coming over here and hopefully we can start to generate that confidence - we need to start that in the first quarter.
"Our last quarter yesterday was pretty good and we need to bring (that) ... into the first quarter this weekend."
