Joel Bowden axed by Richmond
Richmond have dropped two-time best and fairest Joel Bowden for Sunday's clash with Fremantle in Perth.
The axing of the 29-year-old was foreshadowed by coach Terry Wallace earlier in the week, with Wallace saying Bowden was playing like he was lacking confidence and unsure of himself.
Bowden, who has played 238 AFL matches, is the Tigers' second-most experienced player, with 238 games, behind Matthew Richardson.
The Tigers also dropped another veteran, Greg Tivendale, along with youngster Matthew White, while forward Kayne Pettifer was suspended from the side that was thrashed by Collingwood last weekend.
They replaced them with youth, defender Luke McGuane, forward Jack Riewoldt, goalsneak Shane Edwards and midfielder Chris Hyde coming into the 22.
The Dockers also made four changes, despite coming off a win over West Coast, with Chris Tarrant, Dean Solomon, Luke McPharlin and Scott Thornton all returning to the side.
Experienced pair Heath Black and Matthew Carr were among those to make way, with back-up ruckman Robert Warnock and forward Ryan Murphy also dropped.
Hawthorn's former skipper Shane Crawford will return from suspension to play against Adelaide in Launceston on Sunday, replacing Jordan Lewis, who is out suspended.
The Crows lost Luke Jericho (cracked sternum) and Kris Massie (hamstring) to injury, replaced by Robert Shirley and Bryce Campbell.
Carlton dropped young ruckman Shaun Hampson and lost Ryan Houlihan (hip) to injury for their clash with arch-rival Collingwood at the MCG on Sunday.
Irish defender Setanta O'hAilpin and youngster Shaun Grigg came into the side.
The Magpies made one change, with Irishman Martin Clarke replacing key defender John Anthony, who made his debut against Richmond last round.
