Cronulla to discuss season at board meeting
Cronulla's woeful start to the National Rugby League season will be discussed at board level, with general manager Steve Rogers expecting some `please explains'.
However, Rogers denied there was any pressure on Chris Anderson despite the Sharks' winless start to the year and said the under-siege coach would not attend the meeting.
"I have no doubt I'll be asked a few questions," Rogers said.
"We have to hang together. Chris has been brought in to make some tough decisions in the joint. He's doing that.
"As far as I am aware it's not to the stage where they're in crisis or we're in crisis."
Rogers talked with the players and said they were at a loss to explain their losing start to the season.
The former Cronulla and Australian centre admitted he had never seen a side play with as little confidence, while captain Brett Kimmorley pleaded for patience from Sharks supporters as Anderson's long-term plan continued to inflict short-term pain.
Kimmorley's plea followed the Sharks' sixth loss from as many starts this season - against St George Illawarra on Sunday.
"When the club is going bad the first thing talked about is whether the coach is going to get the sack," Kimmorley said.
"He helped us get to where we did last year. People loved him at the end of last year. He made some tough decisions and they're back into him.
