The Young Socceroos suffered their second defeat from as many games in a four-nation tournament in South Korea, going down 1-0 to Slovakia.

The Australians conceded a 36th minute goal against one of the European qualifiers for this year's FIFA World Youth Championship to be played later this month in the United Arab Emirates.

Colombia beat the Young Socceroos 2-1 in Suwon on Tuesday night, a loss national youth coach Ange Postecoglou described as a timely wake-up call for his squad.

The Young Socceroos will round out the tournament with a match against host nation South Korea on Saturday, before playing a one-off match against Japan in Tokyo next Wednesday.
