Soccer fans take to Sydney streets
Thousands of soccer fans have taken to the streets of Sydney's CBD following Australia's 3-1 World Cup victory over Japan.
Following the final whistle, the big crowds who had been watching the game at live broadcast sites at Circular Quay began to march through the city.
Police managed to blockade some of the group but about 300 people have brought traffic near the corner of Market and George Streets, just outside the Queen Victoria Building, to a standstill.
The group were standing in the middle of the street, chanting and screaming following the Socceroos come-from-behind win.
Later, the crowd had dispersed but traffic in the city remained heavy as people made their way home from watching the game.
