Inglis in serious doubt for Origin II
Queensland winger Greg Inglis is in serious doubt for the second State of Origin next Wednesday because of a back injury.
Just hours after being named on the wing for the June 14 return match at Suncorp Stadium, selectors were informed the Melbourne teenager was suffering a stress fracture.
If Inglis drops out of the squad it would be a savage blow for the Maroons after the youngster's two-try debut in Sydney.
"It's a stress fracture of an old injury," Queensland selector Des Morris said.
"He's in doubt but we won't be making a decision until tomorrow.
"Our team doctor is liaising with Melbourne's team doctor right now.
"They are e-mailing scans and discussing his injury but we won't be making a decision until after we have all the medical opinions."
It is another disruption to the Queensland camp with injury clouds also hanging over centre Justin Hodges and second-rower Tonie Carroll.
Queensland is 1-0 down in the series after its 17-16 loss in Sydney.
Morris declined to name Inglis' shadow player but it is believed to Penrith fullback/winger Rhys Wesser.
