Jones unconcerned by ARU board meeting
Wallabies coach Eddie Jones is "not concerned" about the upcoming Australian Rugby Union board meeting which is set to determine his future.
The under-siege Wallabies mentor returned to Sydney late on Monday night after the disastrous Spring tour of Europe in which Australia won a single Test, leaving the coach with just one victory from his past nine international starts.
It is widely tipped that Jones will be shelved but he said his desire to stay in the game remained undiminished.
"I am very keen to continue," he said.
"I have never discussed any other possibility. I feel although we've had a tough period - and certainly I take full responsibility for all the results that have happened over the last period of time - I am keen to continue and keen to sit down and have a chat with the board next week and we'll take it from there."
Jones will present to the ARU board on December 8-9 but is expected to meet chief executive Gary Flowers to discuss the situation in the next few days.
"I am not concerned, I am keen to get on with the job, keen to have a chat with the board and keen to move forward," he said.
"What I do feel I have is the support of the team. I feel in this period of time it is very easy for a side to implode when you've had such bad results but what we've managed to do is stick together - everyone has faith in what we are doing and they know there is some good times around the corner."
While not wanting to pre-empt the upcoming debrief, Flowers earlier indicated things had definitely gone from bad to worse.
"The game on Saturday was a game not only we could have won but should have won," Flowers told 2KY.
