Noble tips Kangaroos to win title
Great Britain coach Brian Noble has predicted Australia will retain its Tri Nations title after the Kangaroos bundled the hosts out of the tournament with a 26-14 victory at Hull KC Stadium.
The Lions, who needed to win by at least three points to make next weekend's final, were blown away in the second half in a disappointing performance which consigned them to last place in the tournament.
A frustrated Noble expected the Australians to carry their good form into the final against New Zealand at Elland Road next weekend.
"I haven't really thought about it much, to be honest, but I would have to say Australia," said Noble when asked to pick the Tri Nations winner.
"Their defence was great (against us)."
Australian coach Wayne Bennett wouldn't rule out making changes to the side which eliminated the Lions overnight.
"That's a tough one," he said when asked about possible changes for the final.
"We're playing a different team now and they play differently to Great Britain.
"(New Zealand) beat us by 10 points in the first game and we beat them by two points in the second one so there's not much between us either.
"I'll just have a look at a few things this week and get a feel for it."
