Braun, Jones to miss AFL grand final
West Coast suffered a double blow ahead of Saturday's AFL grand final, with midfielder Michael Braun and vice-captain Rowan Jones ruled out with knee injuries.
Braun, who left the ground in the opening minutes of last week's preliminary final against Adelaide, will require surgery after suffering a complete rupture of the bicep femeurs tendon where it was torn from the bone.
He had not missed a game since early 2003.
"I am disappointed," he said.
"I would love to be out there, but injuries are a fact of football and there's nothing I can do about that.
"It creates an opportunity for another player and I'm sure whoever gets the chance will make the most of it.
"All I can do now is offer my support to the players who will represent our club."
Jones was ruled out later in the day, shortly before the Eagles' main training session at Subiaco.
He was diagnosed with a grade three medial ligament tear.
