Anasta cooling on union move: manager
Bulldogs five-eighth Braith Anasta is cooling on a move to rugby union according to manager Greg Willett, but will make a final decision on a possible change of codes on Thursday.
The rugby league star has met with Shaun Barry from the Australian Rugby Union high performance unit and Wallabies manager Phil Thomson.
It is understood he has been offered a $250,000 contract with the ARU that could balloon to $400,000 per year with incentives - about what he is currently earning now in rugby league.
But Willett suggested he may stick with the 13-man game anyway.
"He's enjoying his football playing league so at the moment I'd say he is still leaning towards playing rugby league," Willett told Channel Nine.
"We've spoken numerous times about him crossing codes and he's always worried about his friends (in rugby league) and cutting that tie."
