Winning feel for Kimmorley at Melbourne
There's one thing Brett Kimmorley loves more than winning and that's winning in Melbourne.
He got the double on Saturday night as the Sharks surged to a share of first place on the NRL table with a 30-10 win over the Storm at Olympic Park.
Fans haven't forgiven the Test halfback for leaving Melbourne in 2000 after three seasons and the halfback takes great pleasure in giving as good as he gets, only he lets his boots do the talking.
He set up the Sharks' first two tries to give the visitors a 14-0 lead, which the lacklustre Storm never recovered from.
"It was a great place when I was here and I copped a fair bit when I left and still cop a fair bit when I come back so it's always enjoyable to come back and play well," Kimmorley said.
"The more they give it to me the more it is enjoyable to win."
The Sharks scored five tries while the error-ridden Storm could only manage two second half efforts against the Cronulla defence, rated the best in the NRL.
Sharks coach Stuart Raper said his side's defence again laid the platform for the win.
"It was a good win, our defence was very strong today and set the foundation," Raper said.
"The Storm dropped a lot of ball but we forced a lot of those."
