Younis blow adds to Pakistan woes
Younis Khan has joined a growing list of Pakistan absentees as its bumbling cricket tour of Australia continues to find trouble ahead of Tuesday's crunch game against the West Indies.
The Pakistanis should be brimming with confidence following a break-through three-wicket win over Australia at the WACA on Sunday.
It came after three straight losses in the one-day competition, while Pakistan also suffered a 3-0 Test series whitewash against Australia during its stay.
The winner of the match in Perth will qualify to meet Australia in the tri-series final, starting in Melbourne on Friday.
But the death of Younis' father on Sunday soured the victory for Pakistan, with the batsman immediately heading home following his dismissal.
Pace spearheads Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Sami are already absent through injury, adding to a long list of woes for the tourists.
Skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq missed two of the three Tests with a back complaint, Danish Kaneria was fined for using a two-word send-off to Michael Clarke during the Test series and Shoaib Malik's bowling action came under question early in the tour.
The Pakistan Cricket Board also had to investigate a rape allegation from the Boxing Day Test, which was later closed due to lack of evidence.
But Inzamam insists his side will still have the edge against Brian Lara and the Windies.
Pakistan has played plenty of cricket in Perth this tour, including a four-day match against Western Australia and a Test versus Australia to go with Sunday's win.
