Wallabies dominate Barbarians line-up
Barbarians coach Bob Dwyer has offered an interesting glimpse into Australian rugby's future by selecting Lote Tuqiri at outside centre and Matt Giteau at five-eighth for Saturday's international against New Zealand at Twickenham.
Wallabies coach Eddie Jones has always earmarked Tuqiri, the former rugby league international who has developed a reputation as one of union's most dangerous wingers, as potentially a devastating option in the midfield.
And the versatile Giteau, who made his mark in rugby at inside centre, has been pencilled in as a long-term five-eighth option for Australia ever since he made his international breakthrough two years ago.
Giteau, who can also play halfback, took over at No.10 last weekend after Elton Flatley was injured and masterminded the Wallabies' 21-19 victory over England.
Dwyer named nine of his fellow Australians in the starting XV including Mat Rogers, who will start at full-back with first-choice Wallaby No.15 Chris Latham switched to the wing.
Fijian flyer Sireli Bobo will start on the other wing.
In the pack, Dwyer named a formidable back row of Schalk Burger, South Africa's world player of the year, Australian openside flanker Phil Waugh and New Zealand No.8 Xavier Rush.
All Black halfback Justin Marshall, who was rested for the New Zealand tour as Graham Henry sought to blood a few youngsters, will captain the Barbarians against his own countrymen.
