Hamill still in doubt
St Kilda key forward Aaron Hamill remains in doubt for Friday night's AFL preliminary final against Port Adelaide, despite completing training.
Hamill is yet to play in this finals series because of the posterior cruciate ligament strain he suffered in his left knee during the round-22 win over Fremantle.
Despite coach Grant Thomas' confidence before training, Hamill still looked somewhat proppy on his left leg and the injured knee was well-strapped.
Hamill had a light workout and some competitive work before the main session.
He had to complete the main run to be in line for a recall and the Saints will now see how Hamill pulls up over the next 24 hours.
"My gut feel is that he'll be available," Thomas said before training.
"He hasn't blown up and he's very confident of how it is, but the litmus test is this session."
Thomas toyed with the media immediately before training, held in front of more than 1000 fans at Moorabbin, saying it would be "quite obvious" after watching Hamill whether he would play.
"So if you see any flaw in him, you let me know," Thomas said.
Utility Heath Black, who trained strongly, is a surer bet to return after missing last week through illness.
