Magpies stick by Shaw, McGough
Collingwood was adamant much-maligned midfielders Rhyce Shaw and Mark McGough were required for the 2005 AFL season.
Shaw and McGough have been the subject of continued speculation that they will be put up for trade next month.
But Collingwood football manager Neil Balme said the Magpies had not made a final decision on the players' futures.
"Well everyone's up for trade, aren't they?," Balme said.
"All we've said is they're contracted and required players for next year. We haven't announced anything."
Shaw, 22, has played 39 games in five seasons including 16 in 2004, while 20-year-old McGough has played 37 games in three seasons including 12 in 2004.
The pair has struggled for regular game time, while queries remain over their foot skills.
Balme confirmed utility Ben Kinnear had retired after playing 50 games in his seven seasons with the club.
The South Australian, 25, played just three games in 2004 despite playing in the 2003 grand final loss to Brisbane.
