Judd flies to Melbourne for talks
Chris Judd will know more about his AFL future over the next few days as he meets with his surgeon and his club suitors.
After announcing earlier this week he was leaving West Coast, Judd flew from Perth on Wednesday to his home city of Melbourne.
Judd needs surgery on the groin or hip problem that dramatically affected his output in the second half of the season.
The former Eagles captain and 2004 Brownlow Medallist has indicated the operation could put him out of action for four months.
His decision to come home after six outstanding seasons with the Eagles also makes him a massive trade story.
He will meet with Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon and Melbourne, while St Kilda and Hawthorn have also indicated they are very interested in recruiting him.
"I don't know a lot about how the different clubs work, so it will be a good chance to meet and greet and....make a decision on the future," he said before leaving Perth.
When asked if he had a preferred club, Judd replied: "Not at this stage, I will go there with an open mind and I'm just looking forward to getting back to Melbourne."
Giving encouragement to Essendon fans, Judd was wearing a black and red tracksuit top as he arrived at Perth airport for the flight east.
