Bored Craig wants to return to work
Neil Craig is bored and wants to return to work.
Craig, who quit as coach of Adelaide last week, remains on the AFL club's staff.
But the the longest serving Crows coach is being sounded out by other clubs, notably Brisbane, about potential future roles.
And he should consider all offers, according to Adelaide chief executive Steven Trigg, who sent Craig on three months of holidays after his resignation.
"Within 48 hours of the situation Monday week ago, he's saying to me he's bored and he's ready to go again, 'can I come back to work'," Trigg said on Friday.
"The answer is 'you need a rest, would you just go and have a holiday'.
"So whilst he's assessing some of these other options, I'm serious, he needs to have a rest, the turbines have been going so hard for so long he needs a spell."
Adelaide would not "chain him to the post" despite Craig being on staff, Trigg said.
"I reckon it's a really healthy thing for him to do, to have a look at what some of the other people around the competition think he might be able to be involved in and do," Trigg said.
"That would give him a much clearer picture about how he feels about it, it gets the emotion of a fortnight ago out of the system as best he can.
"Have a good think about how he feels about it and what is on offer out there - and there will be some offers, we know that there are some offers coming in - and then make the decision about it."
Brisbane have approached Craig to become a director of coaching at the Lions, a position the Crows have all but ruled out for their ex-coach.
