Crusaders' Ellis faces fitness test
Crusaders halfback Andy Ellis needs to pass a fitness test if he is to face the Queensland Reds in the Super Rugby final on Saturday night.
The 27-year-old All Black was bracketed with Kahn Fotuali'i in the side named on Thursday as he recovers from knee and shoulder bruising suffered in the semi-final defeat of the Stormers in Cape Town last weekend.
Ellis was to have his fitness test later on Thursday.
Coach Todd Blackadder otherwise named an unchanged side for the match at Suncorp Stadium with lock Luke Romano, who was quarantined in South Africa with chicken pox, bracketed on the bench with Chris Jack.
Blackadder said the team was in good spirits and looking forward to the match after their demanding travel schedule.
"We've had a good week here in Brisbane and the players look full of energy," said Blackadder.
"It's going to be a great occasion and we know there will be a lot of Crusaders fans at the ground cheering us on."
