Nixon to check into rehab
Ricky Nixon's Flying Start management group is embarking on a period without its boss as the controversial AFL agent prepares to check himself into a rehabilitation clinic.
Nixon said on Monday night he would take an indefinite break from Flying Start while he checked himself into a clinic to seek treatment for a substance problem.
The high-profile player agent returned to Melbourne on Sunday after two weeks overseas.
Nixon left Australia just days after admitting "inappropriate dealings" with 17-year-old Kim Duthie, but strenuously denied her claim they'd had a sexual relationship.
The 17-year-old is at the centre of the AFL photo scandal after earlier releasing nude photographs on the internet of two players managed by Nixon.
Nixon's statement said he would co-operate fully with an AFL Players' Association (AFLPA) investigation into his alleged dealings with the girl.
"With the understanding and support of family and close friends, I have decided that I will go to a rehabilitation clinic to seek treatment for a substance problem that has impacted on my life and my decision-making, particularly over the last eight weeks," Nixon's statement read.
